A foamer pump turns a liquid into foam as it dispenses, by mixing it with air at the pump head, so the formula needs no propellant. We manufacture foamer pumps and foaming pump bottles for facial cleansers, hand soap, shampoo and sanitizing foams, from 100 ml airless refillable bottles to 220 ml cleanser bottles, as one set: one color reference, one sample round, one lead time.
A foamer pump has two pistons. On each press, the liquid piston draws a measured dose of a water-thin formula up the dip tube, while the air piston draws in air through vents in the collar. Both are pushed into a small mixing chamber and through a fine mesh screen, and leave the nozzle as foam, with no propellant. The pump is designed for about 10 parts air to 1 part liquid.

The neck follows the bottle, and the output follows the neck. The dose is liquid per stroke; it leaves the pump as many times that volume of foam.
air to liquid, by design: a small dose of formula leaves the nozzle as a much larger volume of foam.
A foamer can only foam what passes through its mesh, so the formula has to fit the pump. Viscosity is the first check.
Viscosity, in cps
Under about 100 cps, often much lower. Ordinary liquid soaps at 500–2,000 cps will not foam until diluted.
Foam comes from the surfactant. If the foam is weak, the surfactant concentration is usually too low.
Gums, some polymers and high-viscosity surfactants will not pass the mesh.
About 1 part castile soap to 4–5 parts distilled or deionized water, which also avoids mineral buildup in the mesh.
We test the foamer with your final formula at the sampling stage, before production starts.
Two things decide the foam: the mesh, and the ratio of air to liquid. Get the balance right and every press gives the same dense, even foam.

Ask about your foamerA pump that turns a liquid into foam as it dispenses. Each press draws a dose of liquid and a volume of air, about 10 parts air to 1 part liquid, into a mixing chamber and through a fine mesh, so the formula leaves as foam without any propellant.
Typically 0.4, 0.8 or 1.5 ml of liquid per stroke, which leaves the pump as many times that volume of foam. 0.8 ml is the usual output for facial cleansers and hand soap in 150–250 ml bottles.
It needs to be water-thin, under about 100 cps, surfactant-based and free of thickeners. Ordinary liquid soaps at 500–2,000 cps have to be diluted first. We test the foamer with your final formula at the sampling stage.
The air chamber sits around the liquid chamber, so the pump body is much wider. Foamers use neck finishes such as 40 mm, 42/410 and 43/410; a 42/410 foamer cannot be fitted to a 24/410 bottle.
The mesh and the air-to-liquid ratio. Too little air gives wet, bubbly foam; too much gives airy foam that collapses quickly. We test the foam with your final formula at sampling.
