Not all glass performs the same. The right base material depends on your formula’s chemistry, its sensitivity to light, and the level of documentation your market requires. Our in-house glass workshop melts premium, high-clarity flint glass and works with borosilicate and amber for more demanding applications — so the vial is matched to the formula, not the other way around.
| Glass type | Best for | Key benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Type I Borosilicate | Actives, wellness & pharma-adjacent formulas | High chemical and thermal resistance; low reactivity |
| Type III Soda-Lime (high-clarity flint) | Cosmetic serums, oils, fragrance | Excellent clarity, cost-efficient, decoration-friendly |
| Amber Glass | Light-sensitive actives (vitamin C, retinol, botanicals) | Blocks UV wavelengths that degrade formulas |
| Frosted Glass | Premium and natural-positioning brands | Soft matte look, diffuses light, hides fill line |
Choose from clear flint, amber, cobalt and frosted glass, plus Pantone-guided custom tints. Beyond aesthetics, tint doubles as a light barrier — amber and cobalt filter the UV wavelengths that degrade sensitive actives.
Anhydrous and acidic formulas pair most reliably with glass, which is chemically inert. When the formula is light-sensitive, move to amber or cobalt glass — or keep a clear vial and add opaque decoration — and choose a tight closure such as a crimp seal or dropper to limit air and light exposure.
Different formula classes interact differently with glass. During the design phase we assess the glass surface’s suitability for your contents and recommend the right grade — soda-lime or borosilicate — so the vial protects potency across shelf life.
The closure defines how your vial protects, dispenses and feels. We source and match the full range in-house, so the body and closure are engineered as one system.
Near-hermetic single-dose sealing for ampoule vials and actives; flip-off caps and tamper-evidence available.
Glass or plastic pipette with custom bulb color; tamper-evident and child-resistant versions for oils and CBD.
Micro spray pumps for sample and travel fragrance vials; crimp-on or screw-on, in custom colors and finishes.
Steel, glass or gemstone rollers with leak-tested housings for oils and perfume-oil formats.
Controlled-flow inserts for essential oils and drop-count formulas.
Spray-applied color coating creating glossy or matte finishes with unlimited color palette possibilities. Can be applied as total or partial coverage with anti-UV additives for light-sensitive serums. Alternative to mass coloring, suitable for variable quantities and facilitating custom color matching.
Acid etching or sandblasting technique creating matte texture that provides velvety appearance and pleasant tactile experience. Transforms clear glass into frosted glass with blurred but translucent appearance. Reduces fingerprints while offering UV protection and enabling easy labeling for branding.
Vacuum process heating metallic material until evaporation, then condensing vaporized metal onto containers for uniform application. Creates chrome-like finish in gold, silver, or range of colors with protective topcoat. Delivers mirror-like appearance enhancing luxury positioning for cosmetic vials.
Detailed decoration technique applying vibrant colors and metallic accents with strong glass adhesion. Perfect for intricate branding, floral motifs, and functional elements on high-end cometic vials.
Heat-pressed foil application to create metallic look. Available in shiny, matte, metallic, holographic, and 3D effects. Perfectly suited for logos, borders, and luxury patterns on serum vials.
Reflective surface treatment creating color-shifting visual effects that enhance premium branding appeal. Perfect for luxury serum vials requiring eye-catching shelf presence and differentiation.
Jarsking operates across OEM, ODM and OBM so we can meet your project exactly where it is — building to your drawings, adapting a proven mold, or developing an entirely new vial system from a sketch.
Small-format glass carries outsized technical demands: it has to protect the formula, seal reliably, dose consistently and survive global transit — all in a few millilitres. Here is how we engineer against each requirement.
Glass is inert and non-porous, so it doesn’t leach into or absorb your formula the way some plastics can — which makes it the preferred material for sensitive and high-value contents. Our vials are produced in a controlled workshop environment and pass multi-stage inspection before they ship.
A note we’re upfront about: the sterility of a filled vial is achieved by your process — washing/rinsing, depyrogenation where applicable, filling and terminal sterilization — and is validated on your line, not by the empty container alone. Where your application calls for it, we’ll align vial specifications, cleanliness and packaging to support that downstream process, and can discuss options such as ready-to-use washed vials per project. What we commit to is consistent, inert, well-inspected glass; what we don’t do is make blanket sterility guarantees that depend on filling conditions we don’t control.
Actives like vitamin C, retinol and essential oils can react with the wrong container. Glass provides superior chemical resistance to plastic alternatives, and for demanding chemistries we offer Type I borosilicate for the lowest reactivity. During development we review your formula against material and closure options so the packaging protects potency across shelf life.
Light-sensitive formulas degrade when packaged in clear glass. We supply amber and custom-tinted glass that filter the UV wavelengths responsible for photodegradation, plus opaque decoration (frosting, full-wrap printing, coatings) as an added light barrier for the most vulnerable actives.
A vial is only as good as its seal. We match the body to the right closure system — rubber stopper with aluminum crimp for near-hermetic single-dose sealing, poly-cone-lined screw caps for reusability, or dropper and atomizer assemblies for controlled dispensing — and check torque and seal fit so contents survive transit without leakage or evaporation.
At 1–10ml, small dimensional variation becomes a real dosing and filling problem. Our tooling and inspection hold neck, bore and volume tolerances so your fill line runs consistently and every drop, spray or roller delivers the same dose across the batch.
Vials travel far and stack tight. In our glass workshop we apply glass stress testing and check resistance to thermal shock and mechanical handling, verifying dimensional tolerances so vials seal correctly and arrive intact after long-haul freight.
We translate your brief into a complete visual direction, mapping color, material and finish (CMF), decoration and closure into one cohesive concept and presenting it with 3D renders and retail and social mockups. You approve the whole look — and how it reads on shelf and in content — before a mold is cut, with every design choice tied back to how it helps the vial sell.
Our standard minimum is 10,000 units per SKU for existing molds. For fully custom molds, MOQ is confirmed per project based on the tooling and format.
Yes. We offer clear, amber, cobalt and frosted glass, plus Pantone-guided color matching through tinting, lacquering and full-surface decoration.
For existing-mold glass vials, samples are typically ready in about 7–20 days. Custom-mold timelines depend on tooling and are confirmed per project.
Type I borosilicate offers higher chemical and thermal resistance and the lowest reactivity — suited to actives and wellness/pharma-adjacent formulas. Type III soda-lime (high-clarity flint) offers excellent clarity at lower cost and is ideal for cosmetic serums, oils and fragrance.
Yes. We source and match the full closure system in-house — rubber stopper and aluminum crimp seals, screw caps, droppers, perfume atomizers, roll-on balls and orifice reducers — engineered to the vial body.
The empty glass is inert, non-porous and produced under controlled, inspected conditions. Final sterility of a filled vial is achieved and validated by your washing, filling and sterilization process. Where your application requires it, we’ll align vial cleanliness, specification and packaging to support that process and can discuss ready-to-use options per project.
A complete range needs more than vials. Explore the categories that round out your lineup — matched in glass, tint and finish so your samples, droppers and full-size products all read as one brand.
