Disc Top Cap Manufacturer — 18mm, 20mm, 24mm and 28mm Disc Caps

A disc top cap dispenses with one press: push one edge of the disc, it tilts open over the orifice, and it returns flush when released. We manufacture disc top caps in 18/410, 20/410, 24/410 and 28/410 neck finishes as part of the bottle set they ship with, with the orifice and seal specified to your formula: one color reference, one sample round, one lead time.

What Is a Disc Top Cap?

A disc top is a dispensing closure with a flat disc set into the top of the cap. Pressing down on one edge tilts the disc open and exposes the dispensing orifice; releasing it lets the disc return to the closed position, flush with the cap. There is no lid to lift and no spout to pull, which is why disc tops are the standard closure for products used with wet or slippery hands.

  2. DiscTilts open under the thumb and closes flush when released.
  3. OrificeThe opening the product flows through, sized to the formula.
  4. SealMolded into the cap, or a pressure-sensitive liner, to keep the bottle closed in transit.

Choosing the Orifice

The orifice decides how the formula leaves the bottle. Too small and a thick product has to be squeezed hard; too large and a thin one runs.

  • Small orificeAbout 1–2 mm

    Thin liquids

Toners and light essences that would otherwise run.

  • Medium orificeAbout 3–4 mm

    Lotions, shampoos and conditioners

The everyday size for personal care liquids.

  • Large orificeAbout 5–6 mm

    Thicker products

Gels and body creams that need a wider opening to flow.

Disc tops suit the thin-to-medium liquids that flow easily through the orifice: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, liquid soap, hand sanitizer, body lotion, toner and facial cleanser. We size the orifice against your actual formula during sampling.

Disc Top, Flip Top or Push-Pull?

Three dispensing closures that solve the same problem differently. All three are made to the same neck finishes, so the choice is about how the product is used.

Seal Molded In, or a Liner?

How the cap seals against the neck decides how the bottle travels. We specify the seal against your formula and your shipping route.

  • Seal molded into the cap

    Nothing extra to insert

The cap's own seal closes against the neck. A clean, cost-efficient option for most personal care liquids.

  • Pressure-sensitive liner

    Seals from capping torque

A liner inside the cap that seals on contact from the capping torque alone, with no extra equipment on the filling line. Extra protection against leaks in shipping.

Shipped by courier or exported by sea: we recommend the pressure-sensitive liner.

Customization

The disc cap is the first thing a customer touches, and every surface on it can be specified, matched to the bottle it ships with.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions buyers ask most before they specify a disc top cap. If yours is not here, send it with your formula and we will answer it against the real product.

Ask about your disc cap
What is a disc top cap?

A disc top cap is a dispensing closure with a flat disc set into its top. Pressing one edge tilts the disc open over the orifice; releasing it lets the disc return flush with the cap. It is the standard one-handed closure for shampoo, body wash, lotion, toner and other personal care liquids.

What size disc top cap do I need?

The size follows the bottle neck. Disc top caps are commonly made in 18/410, 20/410, 24/410 and 28/410: the first number is the thread diameter in millimeters, the second the thread style, and both must match the bottle exactly. We specify the cap and the bottle together.

Should I choose a disc top or a flip top?

A disc top opens and closes with one press and returns flush, which suits products used with wet hands in the shower. A flip top has a hinged lid lifted off the orifice, usually with two hands. Both fit the same neck finishes, so the choice follows how the product is used.

Which formulas suit a disc top cap?

Thin-to-medium liquids that flow easily through the orifice: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, liquid soap, hand sanitizer, body lotion, toner and facial cleanser. A small orifice suits thin liquids, a medium one lotions and shampoos, and a large one thicker gels.

Does a disc top cap need a liner?

Not always. A seal molded into the cap closes against the neck for most personal care liquids. A pressure-sensitive liner, which seals from the capping torque alone, adds protection against leaks for programs shipped by courier or by sea.

Can the disc cap be color-matched to the bottle?

Yes. The cap is matched to the bottle from a physical color sample, and can be frosted, spray-coated, electroplated in chrome, gold, rose gold or brushed, screen printed or hot stamped.

What is the MOQ and lead time for custom disc top caps?

MOQ is 10,000 units per SKU on existing molds. A custom-color cap sample takes 15–20 days; production of 10,000 caps takes 7 days in a stock color and 30 days in a custom color, counted from receipt of vector artwork and payment. Sea freight adds 35–40 days.
